Exploding boats, flaming helicopters, Florida politicians, and a manatee named Dante:

NTSB Investigator Mat McElvy is an expert on plane crashes, having almost been killed in one himself. But dispatched to his hometown of Fernandina Beach, he uncovers a situation far more complex than the helicopter crash that landed two people in cold storage.

Presented with a conspiracy theory from a surprise source, McElvy finds himself in a world of counterfeit goods, dirty real estate transactions, hostile ex-girlfriends, and locals who are disappearing by the boatload.

Then a fellow investigator winds up dead, and the evidence points to him.

His race for the truth lands him aboard a yacht anchored atop a cold sea on a dark night, facing a murder weapon sixteen million years in the making. But will he be in time to prevent more death?

ATC ZERO
the Prequel to flukes

People are disappearing from the Miami Air Traffic Control Tower, and Mat McElvy is the only one who knows why.

With his friend is among the missing, McElvy’s search for answers reveals a plot to overthrow and ruin the Federal Aviation Administration at its highest levels. Together with deposed Miami homicide detective Angel Krebowski, he navigates a world of man-eating jet engines, disillusioned airline employees, domestic terrorists, and poetically homicidal crypto speculators in order to prevent the world’s safest aviation system from collapsing in on itself.

But sometimes allowing things to fall apart is the safest thing for everyone….

About jon

Jon Selman is an air traffic controller born and (mostly) raised in Florida and is the author of the books FLUKES and the upcoming novel ATC Zero. In his sixteen years with the FAA, he has worked in Jacksonville, Atlanta, and Daytona Beach. Yeah, it’s stressful. He has a BS in Applied Meteorology from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, along with half of an MS in Human Factors. He spends his spare time fly fishing, building skiffs, collecting guitars, and dreaming of the day that the great state of Florida finally un-fucks itself.

He currently lives in Ormond Beach with his wife and two daughters.
